How do I prepare for my telehealth session?

To prepare for your session, find a quiet, private space where you won’t be interrupted. Ensure you have a stable internet connection and that your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) is charged and equipped with a working camera and microphone. Be comfortable!

What platform do you use for telehealth sessions?

We use a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform to ensure your privacy and security during sessions. You will receive a link to access the session via email prior to your appointment.

How does Daya Wellness handle confidentiality?

Confidentiality is a fundamental principle at Daya Wellness. Your personal information and the details discussed in therapy are kept private. However, there are some limits to confidentiality:

• If there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if abuse or neglect is disclosed, the therapist may be required to report this to the appropriate authorities.

• In the case of minors (under 18), consent for therapy must come from a parent or legal guardian. However, minors aged 13 and older can consent to certain outpatient mental health services without parental permission. If a minor discloses information indicating a risk of harm, the therapist may need to inform a parent or guardian.

What if my child needs therapy but Daya Wellness typically does not see minors?
